Whether you’re managing chronic pain, struggling with mental health symptoms, or navigating the side effects of other medical treatments, we’re here to help you explore whether cannabis could offer safe, effective relief.
Medical marijuana has been shown to assist with a number of physical and psychological conditions, including but not limited to anxiety, PTSD, insomnia, migraines, cancer-related symptoms, epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, and inflammatory conditions like arthritis. We also evaluate patients with treatment-resistant conditions, where traditional medications may have proven ineffective or caused undesirable side effects.
Our evaluations are not one-size-fits-all. Each consultation is handled with care and empathy, allowing us to fully understand your health history and goals. By treating the whole person—not just a diagnosis—we’re able to offer thoughtful guidance on whether medical cannabis may be a suitable part of your care plan. At Virginia Cannabis Cards, we believe everyone deserves the opportunity to pursue relief, healing, and a better quality of life through legal, compassionate cannabis care.

Second, by purchasing cannabis with your medical cannabis card you will not have to pay the 21% retail sales tax.
Third, by having a medical cannabis certification you are granted certain rights and protections under the law. "No employer shall discharge, discipline, or discriminate against an employee for such employee's lawful use of cannabis oil pursuant to a valid written certification issued by a practitioner for the treatment or to eliminate the symptoms of the employee's diagnosed condition or disease pursuant to § 54.1-3408.3." On April 7, 2021, Virginia became the first state in the South to begin the process of legalizing adult-use cannabis. HB2312 (Herring) and SB1406 (Ebbin; Lucas), introduced by Governor Northam and passed by the 2021 General Assembly, prioritize social equity, public health and public safety and lay out a three year process to legalize cannabis and create a regulatory framework for the sale of the product.
These changes began on July 1, 2021 with the authorization of a new state authority to regulate the industry and with the legalization of simple possession and home cultivation for adults 21 years and over. Following reenactment by the 2022 General Assembly, the Cannabis Control Authority, advised by a Health Advisory Council, will complete regulations, implement a social equity program, and issue business licenses. On January 1, 2024, assuming reenactment, legal sales to adults 21 and older can begin.
