Newly published research has found that people who suffer from chronic pain syndromes reported being in significantly less pain while functioning better both physically and socially when using medical cannabis. In addition, patients who had been taking opioids to treat their pain were able to reduce or completely stop using them with the use of medical cannabis. As a result, medical cannabis could be paving the path toward alleviating the opioid epidemic within the US.
